The External Advisory Board (EAB) consists of representatives from other CTSA-funded institutions who share their experience with implementing CTSA programs at their institutions and offer advice on how the Penn State CTSI can be more effective. The members of the EAB participate in annual on-site meetings, review the Penn State CTSI programs, and assess whether milestones for the CTSI and its individual programs have been achieved. The EAB provides a written report that is shared with the NIH and Penn State leadership.
The specific mandate of the EAB is to:
- Provide feedback on CTSI programs and activities and determine whether they are meeting the goals of the CTSI and the national CTSA consortium;
- Review how CTSA grant funds are being allocated and make recommendations for more cost-effective strategies for providing services;
- Advocate for CTSI with Penn State leadership and help benchmark the CTSI within the context of other CTSA-funded organizations.
