Thomas Lloyd, Ph.D.

Dr. Lloyd is a professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences at the College of Medicine with joint appointments in the Departments of Pharmacology and Obstetrics and Gynecology. Training medical students and physicians to clinical research has been a central focus of Dr. Lloyd’s career. He was the architect and director of the Penn State Medical Student Research Program for 28 years. Dr. Lloyd’s current research is focused on using mobile devices to improve self-care for recently discharged heart failure patients. Dr. Lloyd is also developing active learning programs for clinicians and scientists to improve their presentation and communication skills.

Betsy Aumiller, D.Ed.

Dr. Aumiller is an assistant professor in the Department of Public Health Sciences, Division of Health Services Research. Dr. Aumiller is a health educator with considerable experience in worksite/community health behavior change planning and intervention research; e-learning applications; cancer prevention, screening and survivorship; rural/medically underserved populations; clinical trials education and recruitment.
