Each month, a panel of speakers will present practical information related to clinical and translational topics, with the goal to expose participants to contemporary issues and tools that can accelerate the translation of research to benefit human health.

The Biostatistics, Epidemiology and Research Design (BERD) Recent Topics in Research Methods seminar series is held during the academic year.

Lectures on fundamental research methods are given in the fall semester, with more advanced topics presented in the spring semester.

Statisticians and methodologists from multiple Penn State departments present these seminars.

Amplifying Lion Voices Expand answer

Join CTSI’s Director of JEDI-B, Dr. Raffy Luquis, and the Community Health Equity & Engagement in Research (CHEER) team for our “Amplifying Lion Voices” quarterly series. The series amplifies underrepresented voices in health research across Penn State to promote dialogue and encourage innovative collaboration among diverse researchers, faculty, staff and students. By amplifying diverse perspectives, we can foster belonging and an inclusive environment across Penn State.

CHEER Seminars Expand answer

The Community Health Equity & Engagement in Research (CHEER) program promotes community-engaged research (CEnR) across Penn State, spanning many disciplines, with the overall goal of enhancing wellness and reducing health disparities. It serves as the landing place for faculty who seek to engage communities in their research and for community organizations and members to engage with Penn State expertise. CHEER at Penn State is supported, in part, by funding from Penn State’s Social Science Research Institute (SSRI).

Implementation Science Seminar Series Expand answer

Connecting evidence and practice to improve health equity, the Implementation Science Core (ISC) supports implementation science projects within the Penn State community. Implementation science is the connecting bridge that brings evidence-based interventions into the real-world setting. The ISC strives to increase the adoption, integration, and sustainability of evidence-based practices into real-world resource-constrained settings to improve health equity.
