Research Recruitment Toolkit
Understanding how to best reach your intended study population and effectively communicate to those individuals about your research are important first steps in recruitment and retention efforts. Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) offers a variety of resources to assist study teams with these efforts.
This Recruitment and Retention Toolkit provides:
- evidence for how to successfully recruit and retain participants in research studies.
- recruitment tools and templates for teams to access and tailor for their specific project needs.
These tools are available to the entire Penn State research community. However, due to research marketing and communications guidelines unique to campuses and colleges, it is strongly encouraged that research teams work closely with their college or campus marketing and communications teams when developing recruitment and retention materials.
All recruitment materials provided in this Toolkit are still subject to Institutional Review Board (IRB) review and approval if required based on review level.
NOTE: College of Medicine (COM) Employees:
Due to the connection that the COM has with Penn State Health, researchers at COM have access to rich patient data sources but this comes with added restrictions. Please take note of the COM-specific resources and guidelines within this Toolkit.
