Geisinger Collaboration
Geisinger is an integrated health system with ten hospital campuses, a comprehensive health plan with half a million members and the Geisinger College of Health Sciences. With a workforce of tens of thousands[CM1] , including a large network of physicians, Geisinger drives billions of dollars in annual impact across the communities it serves.
Founded in 2022, The Geisinger College of Health Sciences unites the Geisinger School of Medicine, Geisinger School of Nursing, Geisinger School of Graduate Education, Research Institute and Center for Faculty and Professional Development. These learning centers form a collaborative network that drives education, research and innovation. A dedicated group of faculty members advances its mission to educate and train the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Vision for Future Collaboration
Geisinger’s MyCode Community Health Initiative is a national model of genomic and population health research, with more than 360,000 participants. Through collaboration with Penn State CTSI, Geisinger aims to strengthen research connectivity and operational efficiency to advance health research.
Geisinger contributes expertise in genomic health, health systems science, implementation science, decision sciences, population health, community environment and health, and pharmacy innovation to the study.
The collaborative goals include:
supporting community engagement studios
hosting community-driven research days
providing access to research data and genomic data warehouses,
supporting community health worker-based research participation
creating and supporting connections between Geisinger and Penn State’s faculty and staff
