Program Overview

Many older adults take multiple medications at the same time (called polypharmacy), increasing the risk of falls, injuries, memory problems and confusion. Understanding what medications are necessary, and which may no longer be helpful, is key to improving quality of life. Learn:

  • How medications affect people living with dementia.

  • What "polypharmacy" and "potentially inappropriate medications (PIMs)" mean.

  • How to recognize common risks and warning signs of PIMs.

  • Communication strategies for asking questions and speaking with healthcare providers.

No medical background required! You'll have opportunities to ask questions and learn in a supportive environment.
